Who needs a study visa?

Every non-Iraqi student who wishes to study formally inside Iraq needs one. The study visa is issued specifically for study and is completed by a study residency permit after arrival; a visit or tourist visa is not a substitute.

Steps in detail

Before travel

  1. Apply for admission and obtain the official acceptance letter from Al-Maaqal University.
  2. Have the admission verified with the Ministry of Higher Education where required.
  3. Visit the Iraqi embassy or consulate in your country to submit the study-visa application.
  4. Prepare and duly authenticate the documents (via your country’s foreign ministry and the Iraqi embassy).
